DRINKING FOUNTAIN

The above video was taken at Kinetica Art Fair 2011. It is the first prototype we built to develop our idea of an interactive, public drinking fountain. Although in its early stages, we can see there is huge potential in its graceful nature and people’s enjoyment in receiving the water from it.

The below visualisations are our initial, conceptual sketches that explore the idea of an organic structure that senses the user then bows down to pour a drink into your cup.

Once we moved into the fabrication stage the form evolved. We will continue to work to develop this idea and hope to one day see a family of fountains in a public space.
